6th class confirmation

The 6th class of 2020 made their confirmation on Saturday 22nd of August.   Thanks to all the staff who were involved in ensuring such a special day for the children, particularly under such exceptional circumstances.

Many thanks for the huge effort made by Ms. Hamill and Ms. Mc Nulty.   Thanks to Ms. Burke for arranging the confirmation hymns.

Thank you to Fr. Paddy and the parish team who made it possible for all the children to be confirmed together and to make their final day together as pupils in St. Malachy’s so memorable.

Government advice on non-essential travel overseas

Government policy, which is based on official public health advice, continues to advise against non-essential travel overseas for everyone.

It is a requirement for anyone coming into Ireland, from locations other than those with a rating of ‘normal precautions’ (“green”), to restrict their movements for 14 days, and this includes school staff, parents and children or other students coming from abroad to attend school in Ireland.  Restricting your movements means staying indoors in one location and avoiding contact with other people and social situations as much as possible.

Confirmation for class of 2020

I am pleased to confirm that the Confirmation will take place at 11:00 on Saturday 22nd August. We are able to have the Confirmation as one group under strict social distancing guidelines. Attendance will be limited to four per family  – the Candidate, two parents/guardians and the sponsor. We are going to host a practice for the children on Friday 21st August at 14:00 in the church. The children will collect their tickets for the Confirmation at this. Eoin Dolan

Retirement of Ms Mc Grath

It is which a tinge of sadness that we say goodbye to our long standing staff member Ms. Mc Grath.

Ms Mc Grath’s career spanned four decades, joining the St Malachy’s staff in 1980.  She has dedicated her whole school career to St Malachy’s.

She has left a lasting impression on all of our staff past and present and no doubt with the pupils. We plan to have a more formal goodbye when the circumstances allow. One of her lasting impacts was her position as Sports Coordinator in the school. Her organisation of Santry Athletics Competition and School Sports Day has provided some of the fondness of memories for our pupils.

We wish her the very best in this next chapter of her life.

Philly McMahon Videos

Dublin player, Philly McMahon, has made some challenges/games for the children of St. Malachy’s.  They look like a lot of fun! Enjoy and get as many of your friends and family to join in too.
