Parents Association

Parents Association

The St.Malachy’s parents association is a group of parents who endeavour to support the school and build community. St.Malachy’s has always had a unique relationship with its parents. This relationship is fostered through mutual respect and co-operation. It is a combined association which involves St.Oliver Plunkett’s J.N.S. This has proven to work very well as many parents decide to send their children on to St.Malachy’s for the remaining years of their primary school education.

In this spirit the association meet every Friday morning at 9.30am. Each week there are activities which are decided upon as a group at the first meeting of each term. Examples of these activities are (1) maintaining the courtyard, (2) Wrapping prizes for the sponsored swim (Christmas raffle).

The association also volunteers at the annual cake sale which is held at Easter time. The group also takes part in classes to promote personal development. Courses that have been held since September are (1) Triple P, (2) Mindfulness and (3) Arts and Crafts.

Some of next year’s courses beginning in January, may include (1) Cookery, (2) Mindfulness and (3) Maths for Parents, depending on expression of interest. Next year the parents association are also looking forward to going on trips, such as “The Botanic Gardens” and “The City Bus Tours”.

The Parents Association would like to take this opportunity to invite new members to join the association, in doing so, help promote and develop a positive community ethos within the collective schools’ setting.

Looking forward to meeting up with you in the New Year.

The Parent’s Association.
