St Malachy’s literacy week
We are pleased to announce St Malachy’s literacy week. We started the week off which a poem recital over the intercom from Joy Joyce ( assisted by Ms O’ Malley!) and two inspirational quotes from Callum Parkes, both pupils from 6th class. We are very proud of Joy and Callum, as this not an easy thing to do – a career in radio presenting beckons!
This was followed by D.E.A.R time ( drop everything and read) at 1pm for all pupils and staff in St Malachys.
We will continue to update you throughout the week on each class’s contributions to support literacy week.

Service of Light
In preparation for this year’s confirmation, the service of light will take place in St Oliver Plunkett’s church Thursday, March 15th at 7pm.

Our annual school raffle
We are thrilled to announce that we raised €4600 this year in our school raffle. A huge thank you goes to pupils and parents for their fund raising efforts, who worked very hard to help us achieve this fantastic amount of money! This money is much appreciated and will be put to good use in the school.
We would also like to acknowledge the massive amount of work our secretary Paula put in to making the Christmas hampers and prizes. I think you will all agree that she did an amazing job and we couldn’t do the raffle without her. Míle buíochas Paula!

Paula with a small selection of the prizes!
Congratulations Lewis Bride!
Lewis Bride’s sponsored fast raised €250.00 for the Capuchin Day centre. A very worthy cause, the Capuchin Day Centre provides breakfast for the homeless every day. Due to charity of people like Lewis, the Franciscans have been able to feed between 250/300 people every day. We are very proud of Lewis in St. Malachys, he has completed a very Christian act of kindness.
